Ingredients (Makes 4 Servings) 🍓
- 250g Coles Frozen Mixed Berries
- 15ml Maple Syrup
- 15g Uvolve Mix In Collagen Protein
- 20g Chia Seeds
Mix-in Bovine Collagen Protein - 500g By Uvolve
Directions 👩🏼🍳
- Place the frozen mixed berries into a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries soften, release their juices and begin to gently bubble.
- Using a fork or potato masher, mash the berries to your preferred consistency. Leave some chunks for texture or mash until smooth.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir through the maple syrup and Uvolve Mix In Collagen Protein until completely dissolved.
- Add the chia seeds and stir well to evenly combine.
- Leave the mixture to sit for 5 to 10 minutes. As the chia seeds absorb the liquid, the jam will naturally thicken.
- Transfer to a clean glass jar and allow to cool completely before refrigerating.
Storage & Meal Prep Tips 🧊
- Store in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Stir before each use as natural separation may occur.
- Freeze in small portions for up to 3 months.
💡 Tip: Use this jam as a topping for overnight oats, protein pancakes, yoghurt bowls, toast, chia puddings or smoothie bowls.
Nutritional Benefits 💪🏼
🫐 Mixed berries – Naturally rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and fibre, which support overall health.
🌱 Chia seeds – Provide dietary fibre, plant-based omega-3 fats and help create the jam's thick texture without the need for added gelling agents.
💗 Collagen protein – Contributes additional protein and can help increase your daily protein intake while blending seamlessly into the jam.
🍁 Maple syrup – Adds a touch of natural sweetness while allowing the berries to remain the star of the recipe.
Making your own jam at home is a simple way to enjoy the flavour of berries while having greater control over the ingredients. Using chia seeds as the thickening agent increases the fibre content compared with many traditional jams, which may help support digestive health and improve satiety.
Berries are naturally rich in polyphenols and vitamin C, while collagen protein provides an easy way to boost your daily protein intake. Whether spread over toast, stirred through yoghurt or layered into overnight oats, this Chia Berry Jam is a versatile staple that adds both flavour and nutrition to everyday meals.
